Has anyone on this bord have any experience with an extended job loss. I am finding it hard to find a job and am finding it stupidly hard to find a seasonal job for Christmas this is insane. I don’t know what else I have to do. I am afraid if I don’t get a job in the next few weeks I will lose the window to do so. and I will have little money for Christmas gifts this year, not like I hav a lot of people to buy for but still. I am just so tired of having little money and having to nickel and dime myself even if I whant a coffe or a small treat. I hate this feeling. I just want to pay of my $3000.000 loan and then I may have some extra money. I am just felling so frustrated. I am going to do the dishes and have a bath soon. Perhaps that will make me calm down

No experience myself but I wish you well, try carpet bombing the area with CV's and putting calls and texts in to everyone you know and maybe someone will know of something that's available. I have a full time job and money is tight, it's tough.

Hi Hill lover35! Back in 2004 I got laid off. This happened at a fortunate time as my mother was dying of cancer and it allowed me an opportunity to go back home and spend the end with her. Once everything had passed and was wrapped up back home, I returned to the city to look for work. I applied everywhere and anywhere but could not get any nibbles. I started to go to this downtown labour place every morning about 5AM. I'd sign up and sit with a lot of other hopefuls, waiting to be called for something or other (usually warehouse work). This went on for about a month. One day I stayed home. I remember pulling dandelions from the front yard, despairing that I'd lose the house, when the wife came out and said I had a telephone call. It was an interview request. After three interviews I got the job, and have been there ever since. That was the lowest I've felt in my life. Hopefully, like me, you'll get something in the eleventh hour. Keep hoping and don't despair. All the best, mal

That was encouraging and uplifting. I hope she can be comforted by your shared experience.

Wow - today is only Wednesday (why did I think it was Thursday?) Well I guess today was Ms. Mod's "day before Friday" sort of
I was wondering about that - welcome back to Wednesday.

Hill lover35 Don't lose hope - something good will happen. I'm thinking of you and surrounding you with green lights and prayers.
