Okay, dumb question...is Dysart's SK-related in some way? Or is it just a great place to visit in Bangor?

When I looked at the Oriental Jade website, it looked like the nicest Chinese/Asian/Sushi restaurant I've ever seen!

I copy and pasted this from a website:

A short hop and a skip across state lines and we landed in Bangor and headed to our first stop, Dysart’s truck stop, which served as the inspiration for King’s short story Trucks and later his first and only directorial attempt, the ill-fated Maximum Overdrive.

Stephen King Rules in Bangor, Maine: A Tour Through the Town That Inspires a Horror Legend

If you read the story in the link, it sounds like they got the fancy schmancy tour lol however ours was just as good (I think) minus the private jet etc. ka-ching!

Another view of the Stephen King (or as they call it "The King Suite") at Charles Inn - the books are behind glass to prevent people from ripping them off I suppose, plus the ones shown on the book shelf above the hangers are also glued in pretty good (probably Crazy Glue)

You can see where people attempted to take them off the shelf as some of the dust jackets look a bit tattered.

They were so friendly there - you can see a nice pitcher of ice water she had waiting for us, as she knew we were coming back Sunday, after spending one night at the Brady Gang Room on Thursday.

Thanks. I still had fun driving around Bangor and I drove to Orono (you know Pet Sematary is my favorite book and this location plays a big role in it) and I even drove through Ellsworth looking for the Creed house in the movie. It is my own fault for not using GPS.
You can actually just ask Google to take you to Stephen King's house. That's what I did. :)

That's sad people do that.

Taken from the car - looks a bit like Bango, Main due to that street sign in the way :stupid:

Well - think that is all I have at this time - maybe Scott can post some others once he recuperates from that long drive back home!
Bango :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Mr. Blue, Nomik, and I spent some fun time in that tavern The bartender is just the sweetest lady. It would totally be our regular spot, if we were locals.

Super pic Ladies. Lookin' a little tired Neesy. I was so surprised he didn't drop in for a few minutes. Doc Creed and I were so sure he would.
Think Marsha might have said something earlier about this one (i.e. sorry she caught me with my eyes closed). For someone who is tired I look pretty happy! Don't think I got really tired until we hit Toronto Monday night.

Excellent pic Neesy, the cloudy weather adds to it. Love the upper and lower verandas.
Neesy-- thank you!! Felt like was part of the group. Love all the sites.
thanks for sharing all the pictures.

You're welcome!

I’m probably the last person who should be answering this because I could be wrong, but I believe it inspired Maximim Overdrive in some way...
