Tired...

Been around college age people 2 of last 3 days...

They are exhausting and irritating.
I completely understand..... Being around beach tourists for 3 days isn't much better.......but it sure is entertaining!!

OK OK...

Dated a girl in college who had this same philosophy...Sure do miss her...

How was that?
That's acceptable, considering your mental state after the weekend.

So here we are in Bangor (Bang Gore) - I learned it's important to pronounce it correctly.

We stayed downtown at the Charles Inn for the first night in a room that was supposedly haunted. Robert Gray came to pick up today and we are spending two days here; the the final day (Sunday) we have booked the Stephen King room at the Charles Inn - from there it's a quick trip to the airport - we will depart around noon on Monday.

Josh and I have seen the Standpipe so far. We had brunch with John and Rachael (aka Robert Gray and wife) at Dysart's truck stop. Still have not had a lobster roll or whoopie pie yet but that will be coming~!:thumbs_up:

Looking forward to the cook out tonight - not sure what to bring just yet.

What a lovely city Bangor is~!

p.s. John has a gigantic movie theatre screen in his main living room and a selection of King movies to watch (wondering if I should ask to move in? ) lol
:m_applause::m_bigwink:

osnafrank - not sure if I can post to the Weekend Playground or not - I'm lucky I even have time to post this at the moment - it's a pretty fun filled weekend so far!

Will post more later if I get the chance.

Glad that you arrived safely.

Have Fun, enjoy your Time and you can post, if you are back home....Have a good Time !!!

Didn't even occur to me! They've had them all over Bangor for years now so I don't even think twice about them.

i have a funny story about this. i was listing to wkit or zone radio cant remember from the app on my ipad and i heard an add for tim hortons cafe (as they are called cafe in the states and time Hortons in Canada) and did my happy dance and jumped up and down i was so happy.

Love the nature pictures. Not sure most can understand, but living in FL, it is sooooo neat to see rocks, real pine trees, lakes and the such. Not just flatland and sand! Our beaches, gulf and ocean has it's beauty but Maine-- something truly special.
It’s the same issue living in Phoenix.....part of the reason I moved Back to New England

Thank you for sharing these. Incredible collage of a memorable vacation. I had no idea Neibolt was a real place.

Robert Gray and his wife are the sweetest people...very knowledgeable about the area. They have an awesome home too (you’ll drool over it and I’m betting they would open it up to a fellow Skmb member in the area)
Baby Blue and Mr. Blue know how to sing (I’m afraid of those videos of me being posted here eeeek)
Scott is sooooo tall....and remarkably nice.
Stacy and Lori (Misery) come as a pair, and they will have you in stitches.
Neesy....ah ...what can I say? She’s even more awesome in real life? She’s hysterical...
OK I’ll give you a quick story. We were at the truck stop, Dysart’s, And we had just finished our meal and were checking out the gift shop..... neesy tells me that she has to use the washroom and proceeds to waltz into the showers available for truck drivers!!!
She announces “what am I doing in the showers?!”
The whole thing was hysterical.
I’ll give you more stories bit by bit...
One thing I learned from the Kon.....
I intended for my user name to be my nickname and my last initial (Pronounced Nomee K) , but I learned quickly that I had miscalculated the way people would read it and that I was going to now be “Nawmick” or in some cases “No Mick”

Excellent field reporting, Nomee K. Yeah, in my head I have been calling you "No Mick". I laughed out loud about Neesy walking into the truck stop showers. :)
Thank you for sharing these moments, it helps us get a better idea of the camaraderie and minutiae.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Sorry for the interruption - had no time to write.
Left you in the driveway of the lake house Friday night.
Came around the corner and began a guessing game;
Tried to match the faces I was seeing with a name.

"Hi. I'm Mrs. Smeej," I said (continuing to guess)
Feeling nervous - and not introducing Mr. S.
But it won't surprise you all that Spideyman was right
And the instant warmth and smiles were such a welcome sight.

There was no mistaking GNTLGNT, I must say.
If he's standing you would recognize him right away.
At the grill and cooking up a storm was his son Seth
We met Tracey and Ciera... Loved them both to death.

I'd always imagined that Ms. Mod was 10 feet tall.
That she'd be intimidating... That's not true at all.
Warm and charming - gracious - and she makes a killer pie.
We decided Mr. King's a pretty lucky guy.

There's still lots of folks to mention from our King Ka-tet
They're about the nicest people that we've ever met.
But, I fear, I'm out of time and have to stop for now...
Plus this rhyme is getting rather longish anyhow.
