For years I had been reading that Stephen King did write a screenplay for a full length film of COTC, long before New World Pictures got involved and hired George Goldsmith to write the film that most know of today. Does anyone know anything about this particular script? I've read things like it wasn't a linear narrative at all, but not much to go on as far as how certain characters might have been expanded upon and what not compared to the short story from NIGHT SHIFT. I believe people with Rocky Wood's book STEPHEN KING: UNCOLLECTED, UNPUBLISHED might be of help here. Thanks!

Is the acronym for Children of the Corn "COTC"? Yep, or at least an acronym I saw fans use on the really old angelfire fansites back from almost two decades ago.
Five years after Night Shift was published, Children of the Corn was adapted into a low budget short film called Disciples of the Crow. One year later, it was again adapted, this time with a much bigger budget, to the movie Children of the Corn, which Stephen King originally wrote the screen play for, but his version was thrown out due to having too much dialogue and back-story. Instead a much more violent/gory version with more conventional narrative style was written by George Goldsmith and used for the film.
