I watched the trailer - what the heck! - if you like John Cusack (and I do) and if you like the Beach Boys, it sounds like it might be a likeable movie.
(Don't know if I would LOVE :love-struck: it, but I would give it a shot, even it's panned by the critics).

Paul Dano plays the younger Brian and Cusack plays the older Brian. Looks good to me.

Prisoners with Jake Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman. Jackman did a great job--would like to see him in more serious roles like this. Subject matter very hard to watch, but great acting and story line.
The Railway Man with Colin Firth. As Lily Sawyer stated in a previous post, very difficult film to get through, but I LOVED its message and that it was based on a true story. If you're having trouble with forgiveness, watch this. I also downloaded the book.

Electrik Children (2012) Julia Garner, Liam Aiken, Rory Culkin, Billy Zane

I love a good weird movie and this one is certainly that. A girl who is living with her very fundamental religious family in Utah, thinks she has been impregnated by listening to music on a cassette and travels to Las Vegas to find the singer on the tape (who she thinks is the father of her baby). I know this sounds very strange but trust me, this movie is very good. Rory Culkin turns in another excellent performance and has proven himself to be the most talented Culkin. I've seen him give good performances in several of these small, quirky independent movies (like Lymelife). The cast is great, the story is original and the movie is well made. Available for streaming on Netflix.

It's available on Netflix streaming! Yay!

Thank you!

I watched The Sixth Sense last night on Netflix. I saw it in the theater when it was released. I remembered the main "twist," so it wasn't as exciting as the first viewing, but I did catch smaller details I missed the first time.

Hey, lovey.

I nagged =D my BFF into watching it. (He hadn't watched it when it first came out because some son-of a-mother-less-goat told him about the "twist".) Even though he knew, he enjoyed it!

Hugs!

Just watched Barabas last night, Anothony Quinn does a most excellent Anthony Quinn, but Jack Palance in his small part is a most superb Palance doing Palance.
Dunno why but I love this movie, might be the cinematography, it's pretty fantastic even for it's day
I always loved the anthony quinn movie where he is a pirate, and they save this little girl and this little girl wraps these pirates around her finger. But something happens, they get caught and go on trial. tHe little girl can't remember what happened and anthony quinn hangs. Big spoiler there. hahahaha! Can't remember the name of the movie though.

Was watchin GILDA again last night--you know, Rita Hayworth and the Glen Ford Erection. Anyhoo, it being summer, I've had my twelve year-old son here most of the week, and he comes in, sits down for a few minutes, finally expels one of those exaggerated, groaning sighs only teens seem capable of, and says, "how can you WATCH this old, BORING black-n-white stuff?"

Biting my tongue, I tried explaining my love of film noir, then gave up and said, "aw, yer just a kid. Wait till yer older, you'll get it."

But I knew it was bullsh*t. I mean, I've loved that kinda stuff since I was twelve. If he ain't diggin it by now, I doubt he will. Oh, he'll watch some Stooges, some Marx Brothers, that's it.

Whatever. Put the blame on Mame, boys.
