One of our newer members mentioned this in that thread about movies starting our love of horror. I had never seen this one. And I'm not quite sure I got what was going on. Yes, I was multitasking.

Not sure if she was crazy, if things happened or didn't, did she kill someone, were there vampires. Geez, I don't know what was going on.

The Witch

We rented for $5.99 on Prime. Save your money. The best parts of the movie were all in the trailer, the rest was rather boring/confusing.
I rarely have a problem with accents, but the dialect was so hard to understand, it was like watching a foreign movie without subtitles.

The Mysterious Island (1961)

Adaptation of the Jules Verne classic. It's a good movie and fun to watch but they really did butcher the book. There were no women on the island in the book but for the movie, they had some women conveniently wash up on shore from practically out of nowhere so there could be a romantic angle to the movie.

I love John Cusak and love the beach boys! I think this is the move sir fljoe0 watched awhile back and enjoyed.

I'm off to watch the movie.

I thought it was great. I loved the way the filmmakers used two different actors for the younger and older Brians. I thought Paul Dano and John Cusak were both fantastic. I read a little bit of criticism of Cusak because he didn't look like Brian. Who cares? He was great.
