That Cold Day In The Park (1969) Sandy Dennis - Robert Altman movie

This is on netflix right now and it's only available until Sept 1. I saw this many years ago and it has been unavailable for many years until recently. So I was surprised when I saw it on the netflix list.

A slow moving but totally engrossing psychological tale about a woman who takes in a mute guy she sees hanging out on a bench in the rain that she thinks has nowhere to go. Sandy Dennis is fantastic and very creepy.

Finally went to see X-Men: Days of Future Past. I really enjoyed it (despite some head spinning continuity errors with the first X-Men movies)! I'm not a huge nitpicker--if the story catches me, I can forgive a lot, and this one caught me. I will say that Hugh Jackman's veiny-ness was pretty gross, though, and I'm tired of Wolverine. The movies act like he's the only X-Man who counts, or the most important X-Man, and that just isn't true in the comics. He's definitely part of an ensemble. Then again, we weren't subjected to much of Halle Berry's "acting" (lol). I did like the end, as well, and I liked that some questions were DEFINITELY left unanswered. I hope there was enough interest for them to do another film to tie things up.

Sandy Dennis can play creepy/crazy to the max! She's fantastic! (see her in Come back To The Five And Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean)

If it is, it must be good :D
I haven't seen a lot of Aussie movies, to be honest. Netflix gets more English, Irish, French, and Scandinavian. I like foreign films--it's interesting seeing where we as countries and how we view events are alike and how we are different.

So far, I've learned that American movies (big budget ones, anyway) aren't nearly as interesting to me (lol).

I love movies from other countries too. I've really been on a Canadian kick lately because netflix has quite a few of them. They seem like they are made with small budgets (but they are well made).

German movies are interesting. They take a little getting used to because (at least to me) they are very slow moving. But, the stories are very interesting.

The Australian film industry has kinda stagnated. It boomed in the seventies, and then again in the nineties, but with one or two exceptions not much has happened lately.

I just watched this today per your suggestion. Sandy always plays weird women. She's creepy in Four Seasons,Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf, krf's nod to her in jimmy dean and now this one. She is just odd.

This movie was very interesting, sort of a creepy art house type thing.
