Street Kings - With Keanu Reeves, Chris Evans, Hugh Laurie and Forrest Whitaker. Reeves plays a dirty cop who is part of a special vice unit in L.A. who discovers he has a little conscience left after his ex partner is gunned down. The more he digs into the case the more corruption he uncovers.

I know the dirty L.A. cop thing has been overused in recent years, but I thought this was a really good little movie. Reeves is quite good as a bad a$$ cop with serious anger management issues.

If I Stay- teenage angst as Chloe Moretz decides whether to live or die.
Sex Tape - Cameron Diaz gets her kit off in surprisingly relevant (but unsurprisingly unamusing) foul-mouthed farce.
As Above, So Below - Indiana Jones meets Blair Witch meets The Descent in so-so found footage claustrophobic horror set in Parisian catacombs.
Before I Go To Sleep - decent thriller where amnesiac woman needs to find the truth about husband, doctor, and her condition.

The Color Purple. Oh my. wonderful

Sophia, pass me them peas.
Wonderful film! Speilberg kind of Disney-fied it, but he stayed true to the novel. I hated Danny Glover for years after seeing this film! This was my first introduction to Whoopie and Oprah (Harpo spelled backwards-Ka!) and it made me fall in love with them. I remember sobbing during the dinner scene when Miss Sophia comes back (OH, Miss Sophia is back! I's back, y'all!') . Beautiful film.

Went on a bit of a Netflix binge the last few days. Watched the following:

Mindhunters
Edison Force
Juice

The first two were OK. LL Cool J was in both but not the main reason I watched them. Although, I do think LL is a good actor. Especially in the film In Too Deep.

Mindhunters is about an FBI profiling training exercise gone horribly wrong. Val Kilmer and Christian Slater are in this one as well.

Edison Force is about a corrupt police task force. Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey, Justin Timberlake and Dermot Mulroney are in this one. I gotta admit JT is a decent actor. Can't stand his music but recognize he's a good singer as well.

I've seen Juice several times. I like it. A little prophetic in how Tupac's life ended. Ahhh, how life does imitate art.......

No kiddin. I hated Danny Glover for years also. This was not the first time I saw it. Anyone who has not seen this film, must do so.

I started watching Twixt and quit. Seeing Val Kilmer look the way he does now really depresses me for some reason. That's the one thing I remind myself of when I am envious of the rich and famous-at least I didn't have to age in front of a camera. Pictures are bad enough! :smile2:
I couldn't finish TWIXT either. I don't care that it was Coppola--it was a bad movie.
