It really was. I'm a Donald Sutherland fan, plus Leonard Nimoy, plus Jeff Goldblum. The only eye roller was that they KNEW they were running from pods and Brooke Adams chooses a dress and heels as her outfit?!Grandma is not feeling well. We watched Sherlock Holmes, the one the Jude Law and Robert Downey, Jr. Good popcorn fun. Made me remember that I liked the second one better.
skimom2, I thought the '70s Invasion was a wonderful movie, right up to and through the end. Just completely creepy, compelling, and well done.
The Take is soooo good. Tom Hardy is perfect.Liked both of those shows (Fish Tank and The Take)!
Sounds like Bryce Dallas Howard in Jurassic World! It really was. I'm a Donald Sutherland fan, plus Leonard Nimoy, plus Jeff Goldblum. The only eye roller was that they KNEW they were running from pods and Brooke Adams chooses a dress and heels as her outfit?!
I meant to recommend that one to someone here, but I can't remember if I ever did it! GREAT movie--I don't think Brendan Gleeson makes bad movies (though Kingdom of Heaven comes close--that could have been so good without the weird cutting job).Calvary - best movie I've seen in a long time. Stunning. 9/10 from me.
I haven't! I didn't know it was an adaptation--do you happen to know the author's name? And Tom Hardy is perfect in everything. The Take is soooo good. Tom Hardy is perfect.
Have you read the book upon which the series was based? It's very good as well.
Martina Cole--she has written quite a few books, but The Take is the only one I've read.I haven't! I didn't know it was an adaptation--do you happen to know the author's name? And Tom Hardy is perfect in everything.
Intuitations are overrated....I intuited in the first 10 minutes that it wasn't my movie...

Gaslight is wonderful, imho.I should have mentioned Charles Boyer completely sold it in the lead role of the psycho manipulator. Creepy in his own way as Anthony Perkins decades later in Psycho. Wonderfully done evil role.
Gaslight.
Gaslight was a really good movie. There was a little dissonance, but was a nicely done, creepy, well developed thriller that had you knowing the psychology piece of manipulation ("No, don't!!") while completely understanding how it could develop. The ending was good with a little of its own dissonance but with a soliloquy and denouement that was wonderful.
Ingrid Bergman got an Oscar for this one, and she deserved it.
Always liked this one myself. How about spunky young Angela Lansbury, eh?
It was odd but entertaining to see her young and with a Cockney-ish (at least to my American ears and understanding) accent. If I remember the rundown right, she got an Academy nomination for her introductory role in this one.
...so, what'dya think?
She's always been a hottie, and in Manchurian Candidate she was totally brilliant, omg.Always liked this one myself. How about spunky young Angela Lansbury, eh?
The Shooting is bizarre, truly surreal. I've seen three times. I still don't really get it.The Shooting (1966) - Jack Nicholson, Warren Oates...
