My daughter said to me, one day in the car about 16 years ago
"Mom, will you play the Beautiful Meatballs? I like that scary song!"

Marilyn Manson's Beautiful People.

Merciful heavens - time does fly. When I did the math again, I realized the girl who said this is almost 23, so it was more like 19 years ago. How is this possible? I just love baby/toddler/preschooler. I miss her chubby cheeks and sweet little voice.

Re: Rocket man - I always thought it was "Burning up the fuse I'm living on." I guess I was close. Thanks for posting the lyrics.

My husband still sings "Lay down and boogie and play that funky music 'til you die!" even though I corrected him years ago. It's "Lay down the boogie" if you didn't know.

I heard "My girlfriend, she's into Yen" (instead of "she's at the end') in Blister in the Sun by the Violent Femmes.

A friend's daughter thought that Gwen Stefani was saying "I'm just sipping on Camel Milk" instead of Camomile in Hey Baby.

Too many more, but I love reading them all!

I was playing Adam Lambert's album and my grandson said he must like Canada a lot because he wrote a song about coming here.

Instead of "let's take a make believe vacation" grandson heard it as "let's take a maple leaf vacation". And we all know....maple leaf equals Canada. :D

"Sunday monkey don't play piano song, play piano song."

Michelle, the Beatles.

"Laughing and dreaming,
and I send all the a$$h0|e$ away."

More Than a Feeling, Boston.

And of course

"'Scuse me! While I kiss this guy."

Purple Haze, Jimi Hendrix.

But here's something that's always bothered me, and it's not misheard. It's a problem with phonetics and word boundaries. When Billy Joel sings Keeping the Faith, does he refer to "a nice cold beer in the shade" or "an ice cold beer in the shade"?

Yes, I am weird. Sorry.
sont des mots qui vont très bien ensemble
