Okay, okay......some of us are working. Gimme a minute
Brains: You know something?.....a boat is kinda hard to maneuver without a proper trailer.....
Uncle: I'll just bet it is......
Do you think that whoever was pulling the thing made all those donut track marks in the mud over there on the Parkway?
Brains: No doubt, they did.....If I was a betting man, I'd guess that they was trying to turn the blasted thing around to take it back, and that !@#$%^&* rope broke.....Probably was two guys.....the little one wasn't much help to help pull the blame thing out of the road, but they was trying real hard.
Uncle: You don't say.....
I would be lead to think that the !@#$%^&* thing even turned over a time or two.
It's absolutely delicious that one of the characters here is named Brains........
That's the end of the tale of Friday the 13th in Sampson...... I'm sure it wasn't quite as funny to y'all as it was to me.
Hope you enjoyed it.
Great story, Sunny! Thanks for sharing it--just what I needed on a dreary day. That's the end of the tale of Friday the 13th in Sampson...... I'm sure it wasn't quite as funny to y'all as it was to me.
Hope you enjoyed it.
Haha! There are plenty of "Adventures in Sampson" stories.....I grew up around most of the people, and I usually find them all to be quite entertaining. My uncle is a much better story teller than I am. I wish y'all could have heard him as he told it to me.You kidding me? I loved it!!!!!!! Maybe we might get a "further adventures" episode at a later date?
...it's funny, because it's REAL....no pretentions amongst us Redneck folk...
Brains was there.....he ain't much for singing, though.Did Brains sing harmony?
I like the avatar, too.Brains was there.....he ain't much for singing, though.
Nice avatar, btw.......
...hell, round here-some of the boys I know woulda just stayed IN the boast and cast a line....never know when there might be a catfish in one of them roadside drainage ditches...Some of the best people I've ever met are good old Southern rednecks. I've never been ashamed of being a little rosy around the collar.
Here's a photo of one of my uncle Charlie....not the one from the story. This was taken on New Year's Eve, and he was playing some crazy song about a cheating wife. The guitar was one my uncle Duck found for five dollars at a flee market, and it was horrible to play.
Anyway, they decided that a capo might help.....but they didn't have a capo.... Duck however, did have some rather large wire ties.....
Hey, whatever works, right?
Yeah, then after some more beers the waves would get rocky enough to toss them overboard....hell, round here-some of the boys I know woulda just stayed IN the boast and cast a line....never know when there might be a catfish in one of them roadside drainage ditches...
