Maybe not, but there really isn't much description of the Man in Black in the book itself.
One thing I really liked that Mr. King said at the book talk I went to was in answer to a question about the DT movie (that one was inevitable, I think). He said that Roland started out as a white guy 'probably because I'm a white guy' (Mr. King's quote) and was drawn by various artists as white 'probably because they were white guys' (another quote), but aside from the blue eyes there is very little physical description in the stories. He said that he writes that way deliberately, because leaving description vague 'leaves spaces for imagination and creativity' (another quote I think I got right--the talk is all on YouTube, I've heard, and this question and answer should be right at the end). I liked that so much that I wished I was recording--I didn't, because I have a probably overdeveloped sense of rule-keeping
