The movie is canon continuation. This is the next loop. New things will happen.

I find the situation fascinating. If the movie is a canon continuation and if it is novelized, which I would like it to be, we could get a Dark Tower story not written by Sai King himself.

WTF? A continuation? I thought this was an adaptation of the first book in the series. Is it not?
No, it is not an adaptation of the first book. There are elements that are the same but it should be considered as more of a continuation, i.e. a different journey to the tower.

...indeed, the more clips that are released just solidify the notion to enjoy this as a romp through Steve's Universe, an enjoyable aside-but don't look for literal adaptations....it's just gonna be a big old silver screen whammo!.....
Mid-credits scene for DT ... cut to a scene in New York, Roland and Jake in Central Park. A Clint Eastwood-type emerges from the shadows, enormous revolvers with sandalwood grips drawn and pointed at Roland. "Fushing feef" mutters the newcomer, as he shoots down Roland. "Cry pardon, sai" says the Gunslinger, "but I believe you've been mislead."
