Just finished Finders Keepers a couple of days ago. Another very enjoyable novel. About 2/3 of the way through this book, I didn't think I liked it as much as Mr. Mercedes. However, after finishing the third act and that awesome ending, I have it ranked ahead of Mr. Mercedes.

My favorite part had to be that last chapter. I don't remember the last time I was literally on the edge of my seat while reading a novel. The final image (Clack.) just gave me chills. Superb ending.

One of the minor parts of the novel that really struck a chord with me was the back and forth between Morris and his parole officer. Being a probation officer, the McFarland character made me chuckle. The disdain shown by Morris is something I experience often

Overall, a solid novel with a fantastic ending! I can't wait for End of Watch.

I agree with you about the flow of the story.

At first I was disappointed with fk bc I was on page 100 I think and still no characters from mr. M. I was so looking forward to hear from them. But the story telling the 1st part of book is so superb it made up for it. I just think mr.m length was perfect but fk sped along to fast with some pretty thin connections made. Another 100 pages to fill in the story and better transitions from one topic to the next.
