The first 40 MH17 crash victims have arrived in the Netherlands. I've been watching new coverage and am struck with awe and tears at the way the people of the Netherlands are showing the respect and dignity these victims so needed.
It so reminded me of way our military would be honored upon returning from war. As I watched the procession of the escorted 40 hearses travel the highway-- one could not help but feel the somberness of this last journey home. As of now, it is unknown who are within those caskets, but on every bridge, every roadside people from the Netherlands stood-- some crying, some with hands over hearts, many applauding as the procession passed their location. All vehicles stopped as the hearses passed. This honoring will continue in the coming days as each new group is returned to the Netherlands for identification. This country lost 193 of their own, and they stand and honor all.
May we keep these victims in thoughts and prayers. May each and every family member have full closure. This thread is to remember and honor those 298.
