We're staying in New Years Eve and will probably have some family over. I’m making steamed clams, Alaskan king crab legs, bacon wrapped scallops and bacon wrapped shrimp on the eve. Will also have smoked salmon and sushi for the kids. The wife is making pork and sauerkraut on New Years Day. No resolutions but plans on one stinky house for two days. :)

Every year, we do the same. We stay home, and if we're still up, we toast in the New Year with glasses of Schramsberg Blanc de Blanc. It's one of the few times in the year that we drink champagne sparkling wine, and January 1 is one of the few times, maybe the only, in the year that we have alcohol in the morning (mimosas with breakfast). It's sort of like, "Only 24 hours until reality strikes again."

That is how I feel: "If we're still up!"

Maybe I will look up that particular sparkling wine and get some.

Andy calls New Year's Eve Hogmany and he used to dress up in his kilt and we would sit in front of the fireplace.

Not sure if we will do that this year - probably nothing fancy and not going out to any parties.

We are too old and tired for the following:
