Thoughts are prayers on the way.Hi everyone. I'm here. I'm ok. Thanks for asking!
I don't take NJ Transit; the PATH train is a totally different line. I was in CA all last week anyway, so I avoided the whole thing. 2 of my friends do take NJ Transit, but they were already at work in NYC before the crash occurred. I literally live down the road from the terminal and my terrace overlooks the whole railway station. For the last 22 years, this has been such a part of my life. I literally fall asleep at night listening to the trains rumble into the terminal. Now there is just silence since the trains are not running until the investigation is over. This is a very upsetting situation.
Side note: I was in CA visiting my husband's family. His mother is in a nursing facility with about 6 months to live. Some days are good, while others are bad. The good days are "good" but she is nothing like what she was. Still, we do see glimmers of her personality in there and it is heartwarming. My husband is broken up over this; I have never seen him so vulnerable. He is usually a rock. Still, we are all getting through it day by day. They are a good, close family and it makes such a difference. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers. And thanks again for thinking of me!
