Been real busy....popped on here.... it's going to take me ages to find my way around all this cool new stuff!!! How do I get to the smileys? If I could I'd be posting up a confused but smiling smiley...

Smileys are in the top bar that shows the bold and all that good stuff. It's a little round happy face. Click on it and you're presented with a huge list of options.

Great to have you back mustangclaire! And how nice of Danie to provide you with your old avatar! Hope this helps guide you through the process:
1. Right click on the avatar Danie posted and "Save picture as..." a PNG or JPG to your computer's hard drive in a location you'll remember.
2. then click on your user name to pull up a page that says "Your Account".
3. Then you can click on your current non-avatar, click on "Use a Custom Avatar", then "Browse" then select the photo you saved in step #1.
4. Make sure you click "Okay", not "Close" after you've uploaded your avatar.

Unless it starts doing that weird thing where the page starts flashing! I can only follow someone if I pick from my list on my personal info page. Guess there's must be lots of folks who have 'ignored' me....?

I doubt it! But that does seem strange!
Are you not seeing the "Follow" option when you go to somebody's (full) profile page? (The "Follow" link is located at the top right of the page, opposite to the users name.)
Yes, I see that, but why (when I click on a persons name or avatar) does it pull up that little page block that is like their mini-profile page which has 'follow' on that at the top, and I put my 'pointer' on it, why is that flashing? It doesn't do it on every person I try to click 'follow' on. If it does, then I have to go to their full profile page and click follow there.
