Book V is in the can. I am so grateful I won't have to wait years for VI and VII. I was annoyed that it took nearly seven minutes to locate and download them to my kindle.:beguiled:

But seriously, how lucky am I? That tricksie ending in five, and rather than waiting years, I drink a diet soda while I wait for Amazon to give me the other fix, and i'm back in the DT world, reading VI with VII in the wings.

:biggrin2:
Read The Wind Through The Keyhole. It is about Roland's Katet but it was written after the series. I loved it so muchly.

...say it with me....."Idris Elba is not Roland!".......
IDRIS ELBA IS NOT ROLAND (I am shouting now)

I think Mr. King forgot his father's face.

I am 33 now and from 15 years old I read at least 40 of his novels and all the Dark Tower series at least 3 times. First book (both the first and second version) at least 5 times. Wolves of the Calla at least 5 times.
So I think I can say something.

Just look at the photos in the IMDB. look at his eyes when Elba is shooting. He is not Roland, never will be.

I think this is a joke and they will change in last second. I hope it is...

You have forgotten that hollywood is insistent that race has nothing at all to do with casting these days. However, I am pretty sure
that detta will feel really silly calling Roland a "Honk Mofah" with that casting. It will throw off the entire balance and interplay in the group...

Course, that could just be me.

I know they won't change. But you know. They are ruining our dreams.
So I am against woman discrimination and let a woman portray Roland. Ya we know. The story is important. Man or woman what is the difference???

Thank you very much. So we should say to Mr. King. ''Go then. There are other worlds than these.''
By the way is there a topic to at least talk about our favorite actors for Roland? Or just go on this topic. There are too many suggestions on the forums which I found really great. And would like to talk about that. (you got it I have no one nearby to talk about the dark tower :)

Okay...
I've reached the end of the journey.:facepalm_smiley:
It has been a long road, with many twists and turns.
As promised, it has been an interesting trip.
We have met unique and exciting folfs, and killed them. :barbershop_quartet_member:
We have made new friends, and seen a few old ones. :encouragement:
There has been both laughter and tears.
And... as with all good reads, when it was over...
I didn't want it to end.
(But... after seven books... I was ready for a break!)

It? The Stand? What's next... revisiting old favorites.
Perhaps... The Corps series by WEB Griffin.
More old friends....
