Just in case you aren't being facetious, I chose the date along with the text because that is how it appears in the first chapter. We will read the entire book before 10/9. (Gaunt opens Needful Things on the same date.)

I'm looking forward to the discussion. I got this laptop for a week...Gaunt and I made "a little deal". (Some posts are overlapping and I can't always respond or give a thumbs up as I'd like to.) I thought this Mr. Gaunt was a charlatan but it turns out he has certain "powers" of persuasion. I had to do unspeakable acts to get this laptop. Anyone else have to do any "harmless pranks"? LOL

I will try to participate tonight, but I am still 300 pages from being finished. Way too much real life going on for me lately.

I'm really looking forward to getting back to my regular slow pace.
