I remember another restaurant...or a group of restaurants I liked. Iowa...west of Iowa City....they have Amish restaurants. I don't recall the name of a one, but there was more than one and I'd have to look at a map to say what village they are near. But you'd go in, sit down family style, and about a hundred Amish waitresses would begin to tend to you...toting out bowls full of mashed potatoes! meat! gravy! corn! beans! cornbread! tossed salad! iced tea! I mean they kept coming and you helped yourself to whatever bowls they brought out. If you're ever out that way, check it out. If you like to eat, definitely check it out. Not a one called me honey, alas...or sweetheart...they were strictly business...but as I recall, they had these snazzy uniforms, reminds me of little Dutch girls? red and blue plaids? white blousey blouses...hair pinned up in a bun...or was it pigtails? There must be other Amish restaurants like that where the Amish live.
