Why in the hell is Vanessa Ives the focus of this show? She is boring as hell. And her haughty, raspy English talking is like nails scraping on the chalkboard of my mind (close in proximity to the windmills.)

My favorites:

John Clare ---- fan girl for the Clare!
Brona
Dorian
Dr. Frankenstein

Wolf boy, wise older man, Lord Hyde, the psychiatrist lady, the new badass comicbook girl -- all can go.

Watching the season finale.

I hope Mr. Wolfboy kills Vanessa.

Edited to add: Yay! All manner of things will be well. Bring on more Clare!!!!

Wow you called it, sisterwife! I was loving it but the Ogre was getting bored. It was very literary - not for non-book people I think. I was getting quite tired of Vanessa and her talky talk too. And the new friend really didn't make sense. I hate that we still don't know how John Clare died. I agree - he was awesome. I hated to see it end.

Maybe it was mentioned as a passing thing, and we missed it? I'm going to google and see if I can find something.

I thought this last season was the worst one. I guess a 3-season story was always the deal, the creator wanted it that way.

Things did kind of come full circle, but wow it took forever to get there.

Season 2 was my favorite.

Eva Green was the rock star of the show and she is a fantastic actor. And fearless too. She was not afraid to expose herself both physically and emotionally - often in unflattering ways.

I enjoyed each season equally. Great cast. The show was so atmospheric.

I don't buy Logan's assertion that he went into this season knowing it would be the last one but overall he still did a good job of tying everything up. Like the saying - always leave them wanting more.

The last shot was to die for.

I agree with the end part of this.

Eva Green was boring . She started out great in the first season and just went downhill from there. John Clare was the star of the show!!!!!!

From what I heard the show wasn't cancelled, but reached the intended end point so there was just no more story.

As for Eva Green...I'd be happy to watch her if she stood there doing and saying nothing at all.
She was terrific in the first season, pretty good in the second and just irritating in the third. I'm not sure if it reached a natural conclusion as they introduce some Egyptian mythology (trying to remember where) and thought they were going for mummies.

When we were watching the last episode we had no idea it WAS the last episode. We were a bit ticked.....lol.I think that even without Miss Ives they could have kept ig going and just kept introducing more "monsters" and let us peer into their lives.I REALLY liked this show:(

I totally forgot that John Clare isn't the first "monster" we see in this show. I went back to see if I could find out where his body came from. At the start of the show, Frankenstein has Proteus, a very sweet monster. And John Clare kills him. John Clare was Frankenstein's first attempt at reanimating life, and Frankenstein was frightened by him and abandoned him, John Clare hunts him down.

Right - I remember that. John Clare was frightening at the beginning. I kept thinking that Vanessa was going to kill him when she was in the asylum - I wish they had tied up that lose end for us because he was the only character I really cared about.

I swore I wouldn't do it, but I seem to have gotten wrapped up in Ray Donovan. I don't have any other shows right now. Patiently waiting for Project Runway, filling the space with Chopped and Fixer Upper.

I just picked up the entire series for 19 bucks at Walmart; Hell of a good deal, the individual seasons were something like 50 bucks each when the show was still on tv. I just started the show but it's right up my alley, I love gothic romance and horror.

I liked it - the first season was best, I thought. All that eye candy never got old, but sometimes it was a bit draggy for me by the 3rd season (wasn't it 3? I'm not sure, it seemed like it).

I got the blu-ray, but only saw the first episode (there are just too many series to watch). I like Dalton, Green and Piper all (Green looks fantastic in period costumes) - so in terms of actors I should be fine. My main concern is, there have been these team-up movies of classic horrorcharacters before, like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Van Helsing. In what respect is this different and will it do something original with these characters? But the answer is a spoiler perhaps, so I will find out myself

John Clare is one of my most favorite characters from TV. The actor, I forget his name, did such a beautiful job conveying all these emotions. The high point of any episode is when they focused on that character.
