Phil Everly ( January 19, 1939 – January 3, 2014)

Phil Everly one half of the rock and country duo the Everly Brothers, died in California at the age of 74.
Phil and his brother Don rose to fame in the 1950s with such hits as ' Bye Bye Love', 'Wake Up Little Susie', 'All I Have To Do Is Dream' and 'Devoted To You'. In 1960 'Cathy's Clown' was a number one hit both sides of the Atlantic.
The Everly Brothers were inducted into both the Rock and Roll and the Country Music Hall Of Fame.

Thank you for the music Phil, I love all your records and am still listening to them today.

My parents were huge Everly brothers fans, and their songs are part of the soundtrack of my childhood--I still listen to them. One of the first songs I remember loving (I must have been about 4 or so--lol) is this one:

It was also number one here in the UK in the late fifties and one of my mum's favourites.
