Figured I'd start a thread for any (legitimate) news that drop on the production, and boy did I just read a great one. Hold on to your butts, ladies & gentlemen, because Andy Muschietti is bringing out the big guns! We are getting the Ritual of Chuud!

IT: Chapter Two Will Feature The Weirdest Element From The Book
Oh sweet! I hated the part in the last one where they just beat IT half to death with a baseball bat instead of doing chuud, now if only they include Maturin.

I quite liked the ending in Chapter 1. In the context of the story, it's more believable that the kids confront Pennywise in a purely physical manner. Also, did you notice that nowhere in Chapter 1 were the Deadlights actually mentioned? I'm pretty sure the more metaphysical elements will be introduced in Chapter 2, setting up a version of the cosmic showdown we read about. I have a lot of faith in the director to do right by the fans, and the book.

The fact that the dead lights weren’t mentioned was one problem I had with the first movie. One reason I have for not liking the fight scene at the end was that they used brute force and IT went down like it was nothing, as opposed to the ritual of chuud having a more of a feel that fit the strong imagination of a child.

That's cool that Stephen King might get a cameo in this one. I know that WatchMojo put up a list of things they wanted to see in the 2nd half. One of them was a cameo of Tim Curry that would be cool if they did that too.

The biggest thing I wish that would be confirmed is if Jackson Robert Scott will be in the 2nd half. He's the only original cast member from the first half that hasn't been fully confirmed one way or the other. I know he has to be there for at least the final confrontation going by the mini-series because IT tries to trick Bill once more as an adult with using Georgie's form. I'm guessing it's that way in the book.

I think he is doing a cameo he was sotted in port hope and he even tweeted about being in Canada and how much he loved Canada and our healthcare system. I think he may be the one to hand bill silver.
