Track said "delivered" ran down the driveway and presto- book in hand. I'll see you all tomorrow!

Side note- stores that do not place SK books out in a proper and timely manner-- no longer get SK constant readers for their business.
Yep, I'm done with Walmart. I always have problems with them. Will make plans in the future to go to Birmingham on release days.

I bought mine at Barnes and Noble yesterday. I just hate how they have to put the discount sticker for members on a brand new release. This is a First Edition and I don't want a sticker to mess up the cover. Luckily, it did come off easy. It just makes the book look cheap with the sticker. Won't be opening until after tomorrow's magazine deadline though. Savoring for the weekend.

Ohh those stickers bother me!! I will peel it off in store before I purchase to see if there is any damage first, if so then I try another until it comes off proper. I learned my lesson with Mr. Mercedes, The sticker was over the lettering and when I gently peeled it off after purchase it removed the gloss of the letters in that area. I was not to pleased.

I passed a Walmart this morning, and by the looks things from the outside, they didn’t have Bazaar of Bad Dreams available either. :)

I received an email from my contact at Scribner thanking everyone for the reports of stores that didn't have the books available. With Walmart it seems to be an issue with their internal shipping and the Walmart account director at Scribner is working with them to make sure all the stores get copies ASAP.

Moderator thank you from bringing that to the attention of Scribner. Constant Readers waiting patiently until publication date ( the SKMB had taught us that), but we are not so good when stores do not produce the desired book, and some deny it was even published. Required training for book stockers-- ck the Official SKMB for publication dates!

It's a great feeling to start a new SK book. Many of the media folks that I can remember from the early days are starting to pass on. It makes you appreciate every book Uncle Stevie has left in him. Hopefully a great many but you never know. This one has a bit of the feel of the Twilight Zone with the intros to every story.

Let me know the address of the store (in a PM if you'd rather) and I'll send that along to Scribner for follow-up.

Thanks! Walmart is the only store in our Podunk town that sells books and I don't want to order from Amazon because they have been just throwing books in a large box without padding and I get them damaged :(

Thanks--will pass this along to Scribner. If they give me any information about when you can expect it to come in, I'll be sure to let you know.

no bounce no play -- I "suggest" to amazon with each book order to change their packaging. It used to come cardboard with plastic and bubble wrap- now it's thrown in the box with exposed opening at the corners. Not so good in rainy weather! and it bounces around too.
