How do audiobooks work nowadays?

I don't really keep up with all new ways of reading like Ebooks and things like that, as I prefer by far actual books, but I wonder when you order an audiobook from a company like Simon and Schuster what do you get? Do you get it on actual cd's, or is it a download?

It can be either. They offer them in both formats.

The listing at S&S's site is for a download but I thought there was going to be a CD version as well. Would have to do more research.

Thanks. I will also call customer service of my retailer about it. In the end I usually always choose the actual book though, but this one seems a bit more interesting as it also has the writers discussing it.

It's strange though they don't offer the hardcover at my retailer, when they do have the audiobook and Ebook...

Read The Music Room. It's an ok story, but not at all what the painting feels like to me - the characters on the painting are far too relaxed looking for what goes on in the story.

In general there's little about Hopper's paintings that feels 'dark' to me, I would describe the characters on them often as reflective or thoughtful - they often seem in deep thoughts, not much aware of their surroundings.

Despite that they influenced some dark works: House by the Railroad was an inspiration for the design of the Bates home in Psycho. And the diner in Nighthawks features in Dario Argento's Deep Red (actually Psycho was a big influence on Argento, he has said); it seems they have actually built the diner on the square in Turin specially for the film.
