Hello everyone!

My first question here, if the answer was already discussed please feel free to point me to the right direction!

I just finished reading Finder Keepers yesterday and there's something bugging me.

*Spoiler*

After Pete went to the bookstore to meet Andrew and got blackmailed, he went back home and packed up the notebooks to move them to the Rec. However, he left & hid 6 notebooks that he still wished to sell to Andrew in his room and later got caught reading one of them by Tina. So what happened to the remaining 6 notebooks he still possessed? They must still worth a fortune! I thought King would go back to touch on this subject but he never did. Did I miss something?

Thanks!

...I was thinking those went with him when he returned to the bookstore for his fateful meeting....

I just flipped through the pages again. Actually Tina caught Pete reading one of the notebooks before he moved them to the rec. He did hide six of them in the baseboard of his closet. It doesn't say Pete took them out for the meeting. Did I miss it again?
....check toward the end, about the time of the fire-and see if he doesn't mention something about them there...my memory isn't as reliable as I'd like it to be...too many lead paint chip smoothies as a teen....:biggrin2:

Thank you so much for the reply. I just read the last few chapters, no mention of the 6 notebooks.... Pete met Morris, then went back home only to get the keys to the Rec (also the lighter and the fluid).

Pete even did an inventory check on himself before he entered the Rec, all he had were the cellphone, lighter, and the lighter fluid. No mention of him burning the 6 notebooks he left behind in his closet....

...dammit!...I thought somewhere around there, there was a "throwaway" line about what could be done with those six.....and I'm too lazy to do my own research....

Ok, just finished my 4th read-through. I still don't read anything regarding the 6 notebooks Pete hid in his closet. I'm pretty sure those are still there stay hidden. Makes little sense.

The police needed to analyze the handwriting on the burned scraps in the Rec basement to validate Pete's story, but there are clearly 6 notebooks left behind? Is King going to talk about this in the final book?
