Just finished reading Insomnia. If this book was made into a movie, who should play Ralph Roberts?
I would have never considered John Mahoney, but he would be an excellent Ralph Roberts! I was thinking maybe Clint Eastwood. Robert Redford and William H. Macy would be good choices also. Really liked the book. One of my favorites.

On one hand I would love to see this book made to a movie but they would have to be super careful with the script. The book is perfect and I would hate if there were any changes made. As for a main lead Robert Redford and John Mahoney - fantastic choices. I can understand Clint Eastwood but I wouldn't pick him. He has all that Dirty Harry (it's a compliment!) and Ralph wasn't like that at the beginning. How about Harrison Ford? Nice, polite, charming and able to pull a stunt :D

good choices! I do like John Mahoney, such a good actor on Frasier, and Moonstruck, and the bad dad in Say Anything..from the description SK had in the book,I think Ralph was kind of a tall, lanky character,I think Henry Fonda would have been great..how about Morgan Freeman if you wanted to change the book a little?
