So, has anyone ever been going about their day, minding their own business and performing ordinary daily functions when a random line from a SK book or movie barges into your head causing a spontaneous giggle fit?

For me, it was a line from the audio book Room 1408 about heebie jeebies and he starts tripping on whether it sounds racist, like Hebrew Jebrews or Hebrew Jeebies.

The best-or worst!-part about random giggle fits is the other people around you looking at you like you're insane. As if they never had a random giggle fit. xD

Yeah...this happens from time to time. Usually my wife is in the living room and she hears me snickering and she calls out I can hear somebody giggling! And that causes me to laugh louder. That or it is still early and maybe I hear the snooze alarm like I did just now...she's still in bed...and I'm down here in the kitchen and she hears me laughing...or, trying not to laugh. Can't get anything past her. If we're in the same room and it happens I have to explain what's so funny...or if it happens when I'm reading I try to give her the context. Anyone in there want to buy some Tupperware?

Oh yes - maybe not laughter, but there's always so much SK in my head it flies out of my mouth from time to time - esp since I've been reading the Dark Tower. But if you think about how long many of us have been reading him, that's not surprising. I've been at it since 1987 - and I'm always reading or re-reading something from him - even when I'm reading another author. I wonder if they spoke Kingspeak at KingKon?

Oh god, and when you try to give the context you're sunk. All the funny just sort of gets sucked out of the room to be replaced by just plain weird. xD

I don't remember many quotes, but there've been plenty of times had a person been watching as I read they'd have wondered what was so funny. Offhand, I recall the chapter (I think it's chapter 12) in UTD which focuses on the Corgi who hoovered the popcorn off the floor. =D

God that book is a trip! It shows the very best and the very worst of human behavior. The sad thing is you can see it actually going down like that. You could basically say that the United States is under a great big dome because all the corruption is there and things get handled pretty much like they're handled in the dome.

I have spontaneous laughing/giggling fits (not necessarily over SK quotes, though). I see people turn their heads and quickly look away, like a newborn baby it just happens (almost) everyday. ;)

In your mirror.
Hi!

I have been known to quote SK and laugh out loud.

"That last fart had a lump. Somebody get me a towel". Ha!

When I'm down in the dumps, "Get busy living or dying." (Something to that effect.)

Mostly, I giggle when I am bored and have nothing to do. I just start thinking. (NOT a good thing. Ha! I smell rubber burning.)

My son is no help at all. He's intelligent and has a wicked sense of humor. (I have no idea where that came from. *blushing*) He feeds me lines and goads me. He's cool.

Peace.
