Oh, and just a really funny funny thing-- while I was painting, I was taking breaks. I was reading a book called Vampyrrhic Rites.

When she came across the street, my book was laying there in all its glory. I'm sure once she got home, she was down on her knees praying for me and flogging herself for casting her eyes upon the book.

Hmmm, maybe Gladys is like the creepy organ lady in Edward Scissorhands? Ha.

Sometimes it feels that way and others like it was just yesterday. :) When was it that you first joined the Board? I don't remember your being on when we first started it but seems like it was not that long after.
Yes, I was here. Was more a lurker. Didn't really start talking until after Steve's accident.

I've told DJ a number of times that if Erma Bombeck and Dave Barry had a love child, it would be her.

Spot on!

Dana Jean I LOVE that door color. I think it's going to be beautiful with the gray and navy. We had our house painted (only because we are afraid of climbing that high on a ladder - we're two story with an attic)a very light green, all white trim, gutters and windows. I got navy blue for the door, but then I got teal, and then robin's egg blue. I can't decide. Now you're making me to paint it pink. The great thing about painting a door is that you can change it often.

I also can't decide if it's best to have neighbors you never see or speak to or have a Gladys. How were Gladys's children, growing up? I can't imagine someone taking notes on my children's comings and goings. If they are making an effort to hide something from, I prefer it stay hidden. What I don't know I don't have to respond to.

She has 4 girls. Very nice kids. My oldest son played often with one of the girls at their house. And, I always told my 2 boys when they were little, if something ever happens you run to her. Yes. I know for a fact she would be very helpful and good to my kids, and she would protect them.

And, a NICE Gladys Kravitz is a good thing. They have their eye on the neighborhood and their pulse on the comings and goings. BUT, she has always been so ugly, always looking for the bad.

Yes! A door color is so easy to change. When I paint, I always walk across the street to get the full impression. If I hate it, I just paint it something else. But, I like to paint! When I am so old I can't, I'm going to be very sad. I didn't think I was going to be able to do it anymore, and then I decided, slow and steady, take breaks -- I don't have to kill myself to do it. And I only have a single story, so not so scary. Although I do have 2 high eves that I have to climb to and my son is totally pissed off at me now, because he just knows I'm going to fall off the roof.

Yes - pretty dumb move on her part - she needs some lessons on protocol

i am just so surprized her people or her handler did not try and tell her not to where that jacket, or perhaps they did and she did not care. I dont think she even whants to be in this role of first lady. and all that goes with it. i whant to see her do something and to actually talk she reminds me of a manquine who does nothing. she like does not even move

Just a quick one. My neighbor family right behind me refuse to talk to her. When their daughter was in high school, she did what teenagers tend to do. She would be home alone and her boyfriend would come over.

Gladys wrote down dates and times and presented this list to the mother of said teenage girl so she would know what her daughter was doing.

oh my word, i am surprized that she did not case all the bedroom windows and try and spy on them.. that is awsome

well I'm surprised too because....she told me the story about the neighbor behind her has a hot tub and her and her husband were peeping at her through the fence while she had a friend there.

Wow is this lady religious? Trying to purserve her purity or something. That is creppy. When I was little we had this neabour that lived next door to us, and she whould offer herself to babysits or house sit and then go threw everything in the house and move things, she was kind of weird along with her kids. Mom was glad when they moved out.
