Koontz isn't Stephen King. No one will ever be Stephen King but Stephen King. I still think Koontz is a good writer. He's just a bit formulaic.
Joe Hill is the writer who seems to resemble Stephen King the most. Owen is hard to classify with the exception of the novel he cowrote with his dad.

I bought Joe Hill's first novel without knowing who he was. I was in a supermarket and it was the only horror novel in their limited selection. The rest of the books were westerns or romance novels. I liked the plot summary and the fact that it reminded me of one of my favorite Nirvana songs. I saw Joe's photo and he looked so intense, like a man who was not to be messed with. I just had to find out more about this writer. I briefly wondered if his writing was anything like Stephen King. The author bio said he was from the same state. I found out a couple years later that he was Stephen's son.

So... there was a tornado not to far from me on Tuesday. It made a real mess, took some roofs and knocked trees down. It was pretty wide. We had thunder and hail over here. Weird weather for December.... which is why I call it "global weirding."

I love the nails that look like they have Christmas trees or snowmen painted on them. So very pretty and talented.

Sometimes the Neanderthal in me comes out. Nail polish always struck me as rather odd (and especially on toenails). As a guy I always liked simple clean fingernails on women. Do women do nails purely for their own enjoyment or maybe just having another place to wear color?

Always a possibility that they'd be in a short story collection but there aren't any immediate plans for one.

Let's just hope it won't require any bars to get it.
