Still more tired than I thought I would be at this point. I've been able to stop using the sling although careful about how much range of motion I use. The pain level isn't bad so stopped using the opiods a couple days after the surgery and on just Tylenol as needed. It's not a constant pain, more just twinges if I move my arm in certain positions but I also have a fairly high pain tolerance. Am hoping the weather forecast will change before Monday when I'm supposed to go in for my post-op checkup as it's currently calling for 3-5" of snow. I wouldn't be driving but still would rather not be out in that mess if I don't have to. Am set up to begin PT next Wednesday. My SO has been taking good care of me but I think he's more than ready for me to take over the cooking chores again. Thanks for asking and the well wishes!
Glad you are doing so well! Very happy to hear it was not as extensive as Scott's surgery. He needs his other one done too. I want him to go get it on record for work but he is hesitant. They changed the maximum short term disability at work to 3 months, rather than the 6 he had when he had the first one done. He needed every bit of that. He was still doing a little PT after he went back.

I keep telling him if he doesn't wait, it may not be as bad as the first one and 3 months might be fine. But he is hesitant. I don't blame him, I wouldn't be in any hurry to be in that kind of pain again, either.

That's exactly why I'm having this done now before it gets so bad that there's a big tear or eventually shoulder replacement. It was also affecting how much I could lift without causing a lot of pain and I want to be able to pick up my granddaughter without having that happen. Also taking into consideration having met or be closer to the insurance deductible this year so having the other shoulder done the same year will be more cost effective for me. I'm lucky that the work I do can still be done this soon after surgery, though, and I don't have to take time off. Being able to work from home so no commuting is a big deal, too.

The sun is peeking up over the trees. I sit back and reflect what life is a big strange journey. I am one month post surgery. I am still waiting on my oncha score to determine chemotherapy or not. I know radiation for six weeks. I want to express my appreciation to all who have been there for my journey.
Take it easy, and get well soon, ma'am.

When my mother and I used to watch Bilblical movies on television and the little baby Jesus in the manger came on, my mother would say, "That's the little baby King."
She could also say that to describe the baby pictures of SK, MLK, MLK junior, BB. King, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, and various male monarchs throughout history.
