Had my shears sharpened yesterday. Now I need a box of band aids......
That's a great story! Glad you made it. I've been meaning to ask if it was a good vacation. So, was it?I recently went on vacation. Just a little note of interest maybe -- I got to meet about 10 TSA agents up close and personal. No cavity search but I did make it through TSA security check WITHOUT a valid boarding pass. The only reason they found out was, when I travel, I show up at the airport super early, I want to get to my gate with lots of time to spare. So, I was at the airport so early, my flight wasn't on the board yet.
So here's how it went down. I did an early check in on my app. I print out the paper which says clearly on it that it is not a valid boarding pass as I was checking a bag and needed to pay for that before I got my boarding pass.
I go to the counter, give her my paper and my suitcase, we do our business and she hands me everything back. I assumed that somehow she scanned it in and that it was now valid, because she gave me that paper right back.
I proceeded to TSA checkpoint. I hand this invalid boarding pass and my driver's license to the agent, and she does her thing and lets me through. I was TSA precheck so flew through there. But once on the other side, I had no gate number on my boarding pass, and the screens weren't showing my flight yet. So, I approached the nearest TSA agent and asked him where do I go?
He looked at what I gave him, looked at me and then asked, "You came through the checkpoint with this?" I said yes. "You walked through there?" and he pointed at the TSA checkpoint lanes. I said yes. He said, "you just did this?" I said yes. Next thing I know, he's speaking into a little microphone and I am swarmed by TSA agents.
They are all looking at me. The head honcho then proceeded to ask me the exact same questions. Finally I said, "Am I in trouble?" He laughed and said, "no, but you need to go back out and get a proper boarding pass." Which I did.
Coming back though the checkpoint again, most of the agents that were involved with me were gone. I'm assuming they were all getting a severe lashing for letting me through. One who initially surrounded me came up to me again and asked to see the paper I got through with. They had kept it at the desk and I told her so.
So, yep, I'm sure recorded video was reviewed and the agent who let me through might be on bathroom duty for the next month.

I had a very nice time. Although this same flight, we had a medical emergency on board where they called for medical personnel. Young girl, 23, they had her on oxygen and a blood pressure cuff, had the paddles out to use but didn't need to. She was about 4 rows up from me and an off duty flight attendant was in my row and went up to help, so she came back and told her seat mates, me and a guy, what was going on.That's a great story! Very cool! Sorry no ghostly fun, glad the girl was ok.I had a very nice time. Although this same flight, we had a medical emergency on board where they called for medical personnel. I also did a Ghost Hunters tour with equipment and all. I felt like an idiot and no ghosts interacted with me. But the guys stories were fun.
No.....we call our expensive hair slicing blades "shears"You expecting sheep?
The only good thing about a medical emergency on board your plane -- our plane got preference for landing before others and they clear the runway to get the plane taxied in quickly. None of this waiting around stuff. The EMTs met the plane and boarded and we all sat there while they looked her over and then she walked out on her own. It was extremely distressing, I was so upset but relieved to see her walking out on her own two legs.Very cool! Sorry no ghostly fun, glad the girl was ok.
