I recently was looking at Stephen King's top 22 (why 22?) movies that are his favourite of all time: Stephen King Reveals His 22 Favorite Movies Of All Time
I don't get looking at this list, that it has hardly any movies that he listed in the back of Danse Macabre, where he list quite a few movies(he put an asterisk next to his particular favourites at the back of the book)
I will list the movies he put an asterisk against in his book: Alien;Black Sunday; The Brood; The Cage; Carrie; Creature from the Black Lagoon; The Creeping Unkonw; Curse of the Demon; Dawn of the Dead; Deliverance; Dementia 13; Duel; Enemy from Space; The Exorcist; Frenzy; Halloween; The Haunting; I Bury the Living; It Came from Outer Space; Jaws; Let's Scare Jessica to Death; Martin; The Night of the Hunter; Night of the LIving Dead; Picnic at Hanging Rock; Psycho; Rabid; Repulsion; Rituals; Rosemary's Baby; The Seventh Seal; Sisters; The Shining(go figure! King says he hates this movie but he lists it as one of his favourites?) Suspiria; Them; Th

This is most probably the last time I come on SKMB. I would like to thank Stephen King and his family for giving me the opportunity. I would like to thank all the SKMB members, past and present. You are a great bunch of people. I have decided to not use social media platforms anymore as I find them a negative influence, a waste of time, and it is now becoming tainted where some people are being banned because of their views.

Who was banned?
James Woods(the actor, banned from using Twitter); Alex Jones (banned from Facebook); Roger Stone; Louis Farrakhan; Paul Watson; just to name a few. I don't like how the internet is starting to be controlled by those in power. I have started using other search engines other than Googles, and I am in the process of using GAB instead of Facebook. I do not use Twitter.

Oh, I thought you meant here.
Dear Dana Jean, I removed that link to that website as I do not believe in that heading 'Extremist Commetators' because that is editorializing and putting their 'slant on things. I don't see these guys saying 'lets go blow up the Empire State building'. Could you please remove said link that you posted. Thank You. I am not trying to ban your right to post that.

No, thank you for removing it. I was debating if it should stay and I appreciate your thoughtfulness in deciding that maybe this board isn't the right place.

The book came out a long time ago and people’s opinions and ranking change as new movies come out or they find new appreciation for older movies
Sure. But some of the movies in Danse Macabre that he lists are better than the ones he put down in the recent list. I mean, The Thing (1982), is better than some of them he put on the list. There are others as well. I think King just gets asked things and he'll just mention stuff off the top of his head. I think if you asked him in six months time he would come up with something else. I think Event Horizon is a good movie, although it has been said that it isn't that good by critics. It's good that he says stuff but I wouldn't take too much store in his current list.

I think fundamentally that there are people born good, and bad. I was born good, but now I think I've turned like the guy that plays the guitar in The Stand, Larry, I've always been Larry. I was born like that.

I was born like that. I've got this belief that the guitar is like a sign of purity. I don't know why. You look at a picture of Stephen King, I like him best when he's got a guitar, carrying a guitar. It's historical, all the people used to have lutes and guitars, they were the radicals. I don't think King is the radical anymore, when you become rich you have an image to protect etc, so everyone becomes conservative. I still like King because he is a good writer. That's why I don't talk so much politics here.

Yeah....I remember when I had my first beer too.
:monkey:

You're crazy! :m_adore:

So we had problems with our TV yesterday and when we called about it we were told it would take until July 25th before they could come out to look at it. Then when we protested that that was ridiculous he managed to move it up until Monday the 22nd. Not the actual TV itself but the channels were all coming up blank.

Guess what we did? We switched to Bell from Shaw - wow

I just realized I have been a Shaw customer as my ISP since about 2003 - wow

Ooops - sorry - just realized I said wow twice. Now I am having second thoughts - as it is Bell cannot come here until Saturday the 20th (between 12 and 4). Actually now that I think about it we will be saving quite a bit of money so we'll just leave it as it is.

I'm going to miss all the stuff I had saved up in the DVR however - I had a lot of Stephen King movies in there!

Oh crap - I just realized - I had all seven of the NOS4A2 series in there which I had not had a change to watch yet :facepalm_smiley:
