I don't know how much longer I will be able to be on the board. My eyesight is getting worse. A lot of pictures that are posted, I can't make out what they are, and the words are blurry at times. It's just a matter of time before I have to leave.
Oh Mary! Can you resize your page to really large? I would hate for you to leave.

I liked this just to acknowledge it, not to Like it. I hope there is something you can figure out to allow you to still come here. It wouldn't be the same without you!

I was offered a job today that I applied for 2 years ago, when money was much tighter (nothing big--just at Savers). Trying to decide whether to take it on the off chance that things go sideways again, or politely decline. Getting my youngest from school will be a trick, and summer is coming soon...still, 50% employee discount... Plus, it feels like giving up, because no way will I have time or energy to write. I don't make a lot (especially since my publisher made the meshugenah, devil-inspired deal with Amazon--as a writer, my hatred for Amazon Unlimited knows no bounds), but I've heard that many smaller authors pick up steam after about 5 books (when they have a backlist to draw from). Since I have 2 published and 4 in the works... Aarrrgh! Worried about the state of BH's industry, but also know there are many people worse off than I am. Plenty to ponder over the weekend.

I am pretty sure that I just became the mean old lady on the corner house.

Kids. Kids! Can take em, they usually toss a ball around, neighborhood is very sports involved.

Tonight. Girls. How old, I dunno. Screaming. High pitch screaming. Heard yelling, shouting, playing mostly screams. The weather got nice and they come out.

First, I rolled my head to the ceiling and asked it, "WTF?" Then I actually felt my eardrums shrink and shrivel with each additional outburst. They became dog ears, I cocked my head in pain, and shook them out.

I slammed my windows down like a mean old lady.

I am moving at the end of the month.

That is wonderful for you! Whatever you decide I am happy that your talent has been validated by another, even though it does not have to be. :)

It is always good to know, and to hear it. Yay for you.
