I think it was The Girl in Times Square. Very unremarkable - I can't remember a thing about it. The Bronze Horseman, I can remember everything. I love an epic like that. Evergreen by Belva Plain is similar -different country, same war. Alexander and Tatiana and The Summer Garden were OK - by then the story had worn itself out for me.
I loved the history! The Siege of Stalingrad has fascinated me for years, and it was interesting to see it through the perspective of a first person narrative, especially when you know that many of the things that happened Simons got from her grandparents' stories. It was when she went from prim schoolgirl to rockin' it like a porn star that my eyes rolled hard they almost stuck there :D

Following Daylight Savings time...It is national take a nap day! I fully support this one. They say you only need 10-20 minute power nap.
I am glad I did not have to go to work today - why do they always make us change the time on a Saturday night/early Sunday morning? - it makes an already crummy Monday even worse!

I hear Alberta is going to do away with Daylight Savings time (I read it in the Metro newspaper)

Is this where we were talking about the internet watching and listening?

I bought a lovely white peasant blouse, in a real store, with cash, last weekend. No internet involvement at all. Today, in my facebook feed: my exact blouse and a few others similar. How did facebook know?
Did you pay with credit card? Facebook has access to all of our photos taken on our device (whether it is posted there or not) and our other activity on our device. Our purchases, too.

Duh, just reread where you paid cash.

Were you carrying your cell phone with you when you bought the dress inside the store? GPS on phone + bar code on dress + Facebook gets GPS info from phone, which is equivalent to a store name=Facebook knows....:ninja:

I've been in the mall and bought cologne or shoes (paid cash) and noticed that the cashiers more frequently ask for (or ask me to confirm) my e-mail address and even comment on my past purchase history. It's really unnerving.

Dear God. I'm going to start leaving my cell phone at home. I've been meaning to do that anyway. I like to shop uninterrupted by "When are you coming home", "What's for dinner", "Can you take me and Brooke to the movies...now", "The dog puked on your bed".

Sincerely, that's troubling. I might need to get off of facebook.
