The first 2 books were great. They were for the most part detective novels. But eow is definitely sk writing a detective novel. I'm on page 186 and this reads more like traditional sk. Definitely has that feel to it that the other 2 didnt. Not at all saying the other 2 were not good. Loved em both. But just my opinion this one has the teeth of the type of scary that comes with a sk novel.

Ranking, ofcourse not done yet with eow but right now looking like eow, mr. Mercedes then fk.

I was really disappointed with Mr Mercedes...the lack of "traditional sk" I guess and so am hesitant to try these other detective stories...let us know what you think when you're done

I love them all equally. I found all three to be thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. I'm terrible when it comes to choosing favourites because I feel like I'm saying that the others were no good, which simply isn't true. I can say that I found EoW to be the most emotional (for obvious reasons) followed closely by MM (for obvious reasons). Other than that, I enjoyed them all equally.

I found myself rushing and skipping, to get to the end.

Then I was thinking the ending it was between 'The Shining' and 'Fallen' movie with Denzel Washington. But, that was just me.

Liked it more than MM.

I didn't read Finders Keepers, but found that I did not have to. I got what was going on since then.
I thought I might need to read Finders Keepers first, so it's good to hear that you can read EOW without reading the middle book - thanks!

I'm curious as I have often been about the...the process of writing. Almost finished. Curious about the telling. For instance, mid to late in the story the reader gets some backstory on what Brady has been doing, how he arrived at where the reader finds him. I wondered if those sections could be used as evidence the story was not plotted out? Could those sections have been presented earlier and would that have made a difference? The other thing I wondered about, you know how you're reading along and you get to the ole cliffhanger? Camera fades to black and we pick up with another character. I wonder if King, or any writer who also does this, I wonder if they lean back in their chair or if they keep plugging away on that scene...maybe insert a little note. (Stop here, the rest comes later.) Would a writer be able to do that? Third story in the trilogy. Not much for ranking things. They all stand alone. And together now. (How do OCD people arrange their books on a kindle?) :)
