ebay does funny things to me. It brings out the competitive beast in me. I one time paid approx. 3X more for something than I would have otherwise, simply because I didn't want to lose. It wound up really strapping my budget too. I stay away from ebay ever since. Lesson learned there. So I'm wondering if that last bidder is pooping bricks? I'd be. Gosh I hated losing bids. I hated losing bids for things I could have gotten at Target. Parish the thought of bidding on rare items.
By the way, $1,219.00 is way more than I would have thought it would get to. That's some kinda wonderful.

I am currently the high bidder. No regrets at all. I read his request and want to do something to help. I am not "rich" by any means. I work two jobs to pay the bills (always have). But seeing how this could help make someone's life a little easier is a no brainer to me. I work a full time job and then bartend at night. Picking up many extra shifts to pay for this is going to be worth it though! This site and SK have gone above and beyond to help one of their own. I hope the bid stands, but I have a feeling someone else who has way more means than me is going to swipe this. as I stated before, I have been lucky enough to meet Mr. King, my personal hero 15 times and have every 1st edition book signed by Mr. King. This is the only one I am missing. The cause is the only reason I am willing to pay this price though!

I have read 90% of his books and with age and poor eyesight, I am now listening to the last 10% on audio. the book I am currently listening to is always my favorite. Just got done with bag of bones, listening to Liseys Story. I love the way he can tell a story!

I'm laughing at myself because I keep checking your bid obsessively, like I did when I was bidding for things on ebay. I sure hope you get it.

I just read Rosanne's second book and she explains exactly what happened when she sang the national anthem. There were baseball players who told her before hand that it would be 'cool' if she grabbed her crotch and spit (like all baseball players do at every game!). So, she went out there and started singing, realizing that she wasn't going to have any recorded music to back her up (she's not a professional singer and she assumed they would have music), then she started off on way too high of a note, realized that she couldn't start over, freaked out and just began yelling to get it over with quickly, finished and then did the crotch-grab/spit thing. Mind you folks, this wasn't the World Series game, this was some little game played with not a lot of fanfare in the press until word got out on how Roseanne (a comedian folks, not a singer) botched the song. I felt sorry for her when it happened.

I had never heard of this before. It's awful when things get blown all out of proportion because of fame and media.

This was at the time when the media was after Roseanne and her new husband Tom Arnold (can't stand the guy!) and she was fighting her head writer at the Roseanne show, who was bad mothing her all over Hollywood, calling her crazy, a diva, a b*tch, etc.- all because he was writing stuff for her show that she said her character would never do/say and she was trying to make her show about a strong, smart lower-middle-class, married-with-kids woman who didn't take crap from anyone. At one point they (producers) even wanted to fire her from her own show! (Of course, this was done to Valerie Harper a few years prior and the name of her show was changed from 'Valerie' to 'The Hogans'). John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf refused to even consider working on the show if they fired Roseanne.

This is exactly the same explanation she has given in the past. I try not to watch the news because of things like this! I hate how the media builds up celebrities and loves to tear them down.

Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Nancy Kerrigan, etc.....

On a side note... Do you think i am going to win the auction? Anticipation is killing me.....
