I finished end of watch about 4 months ago. I haven't re read any of em. so I decided to reread Mr. mercedes. finders keepers was good and end of watch was a little better Imogen, but wow! I forgot how good Mr. Mercedes is. after even getting thru the first quarter of it. it's heads above the other two. the story telling , the character development , the plot, it's all just awesome . this really should be up there in the conversation with his better works. I tended to forget bc I guess I filed it away as a detective novel. there r so many of them and they r all pretty good, but Mr. mercedes is definitely a cut above . let's not forget it won the Edgar award for best novel. And goodreads.com best mystery and thriller by the readers. Hodges, jerome, Holly are so deeply developed u feel u know them. if u haven't re read this one revisit it. you will be glad you did.
