A very bright man.
This man's battle against ALS was quite astounding, I lost a family member to this disease and I was always in awe of Stephen's journey.

As a science teacher, I know hearts can’t really break, but Hawking’s death makes it feel that way. A true pioneer and brilliant scientist. The world will miss you.

R.I.P. Mr. Hawking. He was a brilliant and persistent man. He had a humorous side too. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
All Stephen Hawking wanted to know is: "My goal is simple. It is a complete understanding of the universe, why it is as it is and why it exists at all." Rest In Peace

This is sad. He brought wonderful and different thoughts to the world. I know he was not in to the after life...but I still hoe he gets to go to someplace great or come back has something cool.
This actually got a very loud, "Oh no!" from me as I was driving to work and heard it on the radio. I did a college paper on him and he was a fascinating guy. Not much of a student, earning poor marks, he didn't really apply himself until he got ALS and even though his physical abilities grew smaller, his mind grew bigger.
And I may have been one of the few who bought and actually finished A Brief History of Time -- labeled the greatest best seller never read.

RIP. I have an illustrated hardcover copy of his book.
Such a sad day. I'm so glad we got to keep him as long as we did. He was a treasure for sure. <3
