It was never must watch television for me, but I liked the new episodes. It's supposed to be political, I think. Wasn't that the whole point of the reboot? Maybe it wasn't, not sure, but I did hear Gilbert and Barr saying they wanted to create a dialogue amidst the current atmosphere of divided families/relationships. I thought the jokes and jabs were equally distributed, though Roseanne, viewers should know, will have the last word.
This is a good comment (for me, anyway). It's a shame that everyone gets so 'up in arms' over political content. I was surprised to see them saying grace before their meal, and I have to admire them for sitting down as a big family to eat.

It's funny but now that I've read so many critical comments I might be a little harsher in viewing tonight's episode. We'll see if it's funny or not. She can have a sort of annoying tone to her voice which is a turn off for me for any character. I like to see the discussion between Roseanne and her sister (reminds me of how my big sister and I used to get into it in the past).

I get that they wanted to include political statements and other current issues, but they've inserted almost every conceivable special interest issue right into the family, and into the first two episodes. For me, it was overkill and I got bored in a hurry. I'm in the minority though, since it's already been renewed for another season. I won't be one of the millions of viewers tuning in.
Oh, ok, I think I misunderstood what you meant by "political". I agree with your assessment on the overkill; too much at once. I am mostly concentrating on the quasi-Trump and Hillary jokes. I don't think conservative views are as widely represented on television as are liberal views, that's all. If we are to use the election results as an indication then I'd say it's about 50/50. To me, this ratio of diversity isn't reflected on the telly.
There is a whole other argument that regardless of the political slant, the jokes aren't that funny. It was hit and miss, for me.

Ok any thoughts on last nights epeside. I loved seeing David back on. Any thoughts on the future of Darlene and David? I love them together
Have not watched it yet - seeing the character David will be a bit confusing for me as I only knew him as Penny's boyfriend/husband on Big Bang Theory - yeah - that's right - I must have been sleeping through the late 80s up to the late 90s - did not watch much TV~!

(I much preferred reading at that time, plus for a period of time my sports obsessed husband was taping sports).

David was Darlene’s high school boyfriend, and she ended up marrying him after she became pregnant with her daughter Harris, he is the father of Darlene’s kids. And is the brother to Mark wich is the one who died, who Becky was married to

So nessy this is an old clip of Darlene and David and Becky and Mark, Mark is the “dumb”one, and he is the one who died in the new reboot. They had to go with the death of Mark as the actor who played Mark ended up dead from a drug overdose. In the original rosanne. Becky start d to date mark and then Darlene with David, David and mark are. Brothers. David moved in with Darlene and her familly after finding out Mark and David’s. Mother was abusive to both of them.

I thought it was a good episode. I don't think that Darlene and David are going to get back together though. At least until Big Bang Theory tapes its last episode, then he'll have the time to invest on Roseanne. It was a bittersweet reunion for them (and us!).

I think they may eventually, I mean after the Big Bang theory ends. I think. NExt season ie season 12 will be the last session. I think once David proves he is a good father, perhaps Darlene and the rest of the familly will be opean to them getting back togeter

I missed this episode except for the last 5 minutes, was doing something else. One thing I've noticed is the writers keep keep harping on jokes for Roseanne and Dan about their age-related health problems. That is getting real old fast, it's like they think that's all they have to say anymore to each other.
