On Salem's lot (1979) when Ben and Jason are talking about Mike, Ben warns people of what will happen to Jason if they whisper a word of what Jason told Ben about Mike. What is the name of the road that Ben said Jason lived alone on when he said "Funny old duck living alone on _________ road. How can we trust him to teach our children?" Sounds like taggert or tagget .... not sure. I haven't read the book yet so I don't know if it's in there.

In the novel, it says, "A funny old duck who lives alone out on Taggart Stream Road."

IFC channel been showing the full original Salem's Lot mini series, featuring stuff they'd cut out for the old home video release. Extra scenes most cats don't even know exist. Mexican prologue, like in the book.

I think even Starsky shows up in part two...
Ah, I don't get IFC - just checked. I might have to call and ask for it.
I just love this mini series. So scary back when. Huddled with my mom.

So gloriously cheesy now.
But still scares me.

Indeed. Tobe Hooper knows how to spook ya. That scene near the end, when they're getting ready to stake Barlow--and you can see the other vamps stirring, waking up behind them--you wanna scream, "Turn around, dangus!"

Holds up. But man, those clothes...boogie wonderland.

I had bought the DVD with the full version some years ago. It's a pretty good watch, although by contemporary standards some might say it moves too slow. But it is creepy as hell, and to this day I still remember David Soul best for this show.
