Does anyone ever try to wonder where in Ka the band of Gunslingers are now?

I think of them being the road (many times over) and getting better each time and Roland making more penance which brings them all to the tower together.

I'd love to see that book written Mr. King.
...wouldn't we all!?.....he may yet re-visit our friends again....I hope so-but don't want to keep poking at the golden goose.....

This is why I believe that Stephen King gave us the perfect (and, really, the ONLY) ending to this series. He's left it up to us to decide Roland's fate. How many more times will Roland have to jump on Ka's wheel until he's achieved his quest? Will he turn his back on the Tower at some point when he realizes just exactly what it has/is costing him? It's all up to us to decide his fate.....

So true and since we really do not know where Rolands loop began, it has a different start point for all of us.

Personally, I think it starts in Mejis, but may be later with the Horn of Eld.
