I saw this and couldn't believe it. Both that he was career military, and that he'd been kind of a hottie in his day! I think the perm did him no favors, I wish we could see a picture of him later without it, I bet he was a cutie to the end but we just never noticed because he had kind of become a caricature of himself.

Andrew Dice Clay? I once participated in a focus group at Universal on a pilot for a TV show he was in. In the questions they had you give impressions of the characters. I remember putting down “Show Killer’ for the actress in the main roll. Afterward a representative came up to me and asked me what I meant. I noted some of the shows she was on and how they were always cancelled quickly. When the show actually aired, they had replaced the actress of that character. I felt somewhat bad as maybe I had something to do with it.
