.......you got that right...It's the Stairway to Heaven of southern rock...lol
.......you got that right...
....we called em "Field Parties" here, and while the details are a mite fuzzy....I field a buzz I'm purt near sure.....And if you were ever at a high school keg party around here..or anywhere probably, this scene should look familiar..
I LOVE when the guy stands up in the back of the truck then immediately sits back down...lmao
One of the greatest movies of all time. Even though I was the ripe old age of 1 and a half when the movie was set, we did the same dumb stuff during my teen years in the early 90s!And if you were ever at a high school keg party around here..or anywhere probably, this scene should look familiar..

I hear ya, the truck part is funny cause I may OR may not have done that exact thing except I went right over the side of truck with one leg still hooked inside the bed...not my finest moment, luckily not feeling much pain by that time..lol....we called em "Field Parties" here, and while the details are a mite fuzzy....I field a buzz I'm purt near sure.....
Two of my favorite southern rock songs that I have on albums... “30 Days in the Hole” and “Mississippi Queen.”
It's the only way a song can reach perfection!I got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell!
I was waiting for you to do this...
That's why I played The Ballad of Curtis Loew...I've actually gotten to the point where I hate to hear Free Bird and Sweet Home Alabama, due to classic rock stations playing them to death. I love lots of the lesser known Skynyrd tunes though.
In my mind I still see cigarette lighters in the dark when I hear this oneWell, I might as well post this one, can't rightly have a Southern Rock thread without a tip of cap to this classic.....lol
A total favoriteI'm not sure if this is Southern Rock or Bluegrass but If you're gonna play in Texas, you gotta have a fiddle in the band
(I'll bet y'all thought that would be an Alabama video )
TrueCCR were from California! Disqualified!
No they aren't.CCR were from California! Disqualified!
Never thought about it that way. I was thinking geographicallyNo they aren't.
"Their musical style encompassed the roots rock,[1] swamp rock,[2]and blues rock[3] genres. Despite their San Francisco Bay Area origins, they played in a Southern rock style, with lyrics about bayous, catfish, the Mississippi River, and other popular elements of Southern United States iconography, as well as political and socially-conscious lyrics about topics including the Vietnam War."
