It has been fifty years since Star Trek made its Sy-FY debut in history. It is amazing that it still holds up today, fifty years later.

I LOVE star trek. Even with some of the most cheesy sets and props ever. I still watch it on Saturday nights, right before Svengoolie. It has been fifty years since Star Trek made its Sy-FY debut in history. It is amazing that it still holds up today, fifty years later.
I felt pretty superior when I knew what the diamonds and coal and sulphur could do before Kirk figured it out. Yeah, me and Spock -- we knew the skinny.Kirk fighting the Gorn was the best ever.. it was like the Gorn was dipped in green tar..
Cool..I like #8 too, maybe that is why he was able to do his part with such gusto,or campiness,or whatever you want to call it..
I liked that first Kirk. Apparently his wife/girlfriend/ fiance/career killer had something to do with him not getting the role as Kirk. I read somewhere that she told him to demand more money or he wouldn't do it. Fine. You didn't do it Good for you.I wonder what would have happened to Star Trek if the original cast used in the pilot were kept. The pilot was eventually incorporated into the episode ‘The Menagerie.’
Interesting. Was Leonard Nimoy the only actor that made it from the pilot into the series?I liked that first Kirk. Also Gene Roddenberry's wife. She was Number one, brunette in pilot
Then she was Nurse Christine Chapel in the series.
Also Gene Roddenberry's wife.
Ha! Me too, except my dad let me stay up (don't tell your mom) and watch it with him after the news on KTUL out of Tulsa. Good times! When the show originally aired, I always wanted to watch it because my grandfather liked it and would tell me about it. It didn't come on until 10:00 which was past my bedtime so I had to beg and plead to be allowed to watch it.
