I watched this with my older kids today. It's the first time they've seen it. Now they get the Big Bang Theory jokes about Wil Wheaton peaking in his first movie. I'd seen it before of course, many years ago. I'd forgotten how emotionally powerful it was to me; even brought some minor tears. Interestingly, while my sons thought it was excellent and were very moved by it, my daughter didn't. She asked what the point was. I told her to think about it a while, to review the story in her mind some and then we'd talk about it.

...the young man camaraderie is far different than bonds formed by most young ladies...maybe having her equate it with some of her girl friends and those "bad girls" that bully would help...

Ive seen this film so many times, since I was young and it still stands the test of time...this will be in my top 10 movies forever....after watching it I feel Id so like to find out what happened to Gordie, Chris, Teddy and Vern when they went home to their houses and also what they did each day afterwards....I guess we'll never know...what a classic film!

Loved this movie. Looking forward to watching it with my boys after the book signing event in Louisville.
