Almost finished with the premiere from last night. I like it already! Love the clues and idols and all the different things from past seasons and I think this season's "cast" is the strongest we've seen in a while.

What I mean by "strong" is that there are clear personalities, right off the bat there are players you want to cheer for and root against. That is something that has been missing the last few seasons for me, where everyone seemed cookie-cutter.

Opinions so far?

The people who come on strong as the biggest fans of the game are often the first ones out, it seems! There are definitely some strong personalities. The yoga instructor with her striped leggings stood out from the beginning, like a bumble bee. The past few seasons, it seems like the contestants are working harder to make themselves noticeable. I'm really surprised that they're going to
do a tribe swap so early in the game, next week.

You can watch it online at cbs.com/survivor
Well - turns out my PVR/DVR thingie is smarter than me - it was already set up to record the series, so I did watch it last night. No surprise when they voted off that guy
Can't ever remember his name now, but they are up to their usual shenanigans

I hate the food challenge. Ewww. That would be the end of me.
I kind of enjoyed watching that ex Army girl - she was very gutsy (hmmm - was that a pun?) Her plan of attack (swallowing things whole when possible) seemed to have done the trick, until she got to those sea cucumbers!

I was imagining those grubs moving around inside her after she swallowed three of them alive

Mwa ha ha

Okay all of you Survivor watchers, what's with the big controversy? I don't know enough about the show or the contestants to know what this even means.

Two contestants took a photo together and posted it. Apparently there is a confidentiality agreement that they won't do this and they can be sued for millions, prize monies withheld etc... But, what does the picture tell us? Are they the winners? Did they make it to the end? How is this giving away anything?

Also, I guess they made a comment (paraphrasing) like "F. U." when they posted the picture, so obviously they knew what they were doing was wrong, but again, what does the photo tell us about the season?

Now I'll have to go Google - I think this show comes on tonight (I have it set to record).

:hmm:

"Survivor: Ghost19 Island"

One mile off the coast of Antarctica, lies a frozen wasteland known as 'Ghost19 Island'. Twenty survivors will be put to the real test, mainly because they were told they would be competing in a tropical environment. Kidnapped in their sleep, drugged, and put on a plane with no windows, the contestants have been inside an aircraft for 16 hours with no clue as to their destination. To increase the stress level, on this plane there are no cell phones, no tablets, no Starbucks. Bikinis, swim suits, hip hair cuts, sleeve tattoos, and sandals will be useless in an environment where brutal cold, solitude, and the occasional hungry polar bear are all factors in your survival. Their supplies? A pack of matches, a can of Vienna sausages, a deck of UNO cards, a Norman Rockwell calendar from 1949, and a one pound bag of kitty litter. Gone are the days where tribal councils and backhanded deals between contestants decide the outcome. The tribal councils will be held at McMurdo Station, and attendance is mandatory, although it will be an approximately 100 mile walk from where you are dropped off. Whoever is voted off the island, will literally be pushed off the island, as this vanquished contestant will be set adrift on an iceberg headed out to sea. Whoever is left at the end of 60 days will be awarded a fake fur coat, a package of bologna, and a Milky Way bar. The option to trade the Milky Way bar for a ride home will be at the discretion of the audience at home. The game is real, the risk is real, the reward is lackluster. Turn up your heaters, get out your map of Antarctica, and watch how it all plays out. THIS is the REAL Survivor. "MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOR!" (The Hunger Games trilogy, now available on Blu-Ray and digital download.)

Survivor: Ghost19 Island, brought to you by the makers of "SAW Volumes 1-38".
