Hi, I'd be so grateful if Stephen could actually read my post, would really make me happy.
I'm just writing to say thank you so much for all the years of hard work and dedication it's taken to write some of the best fiction the world has ever seen.
I've read many of Stephens novels, I have seen many of the movies and miniseries and it's extremely rare there is a bad one.
I've watched many horror movies, and it's very rare there is a good one, that's because they don't have the quality of story and character which is so prevelant in a good King story.
I've read quite often that the characters are often flawed literally although I've always found that Stephen has always had the perfect talent for understanding his characters and making them into people who are totally believable, good and bad, both having flaws.
In trepidation I recently read doctor sleep and thought it was better than the classic the shining, there were a couple of times in the early pages that I was getting a bit bored and decided to stick with it, and boy was I glad that I did, when you tell a story, it's organic and you have to let it grow, occasionally there may be a slow bit but that's often necessary and until you look at the thing as a whole you won't get it.
Stephen is known as a master of horror, which I'm not refuting but I think we are beyond that now and feels that's a title that was given to a younger writer, now Stephen is much more than that, he's a master at writing, not just at horror, that's evident at shawshank, green mile and many more, I've just read the first and second of the bill hodges trilogy and thought it was absolutely amazing, there's not many books you read that stay with you when you have finished them and you feel disappointed that it's all come to an end.
Stephen King, I salute you, and hope you go on many years doing what you do best, I respect you for facing your own demons, and would remind you that you have many friends around the world, thank you again.
