I was really very touched in the end when Jack's ghost saves Danny, and they have that moment of reconciliation through the wave. It was just such a major moment to me. THE SHINING is so legendary and has become such a huge part of pop culture that that moment is loaded with so much meaning, through the passage of time and the movies and all. Did anyone else have a surprising reaction to that bit?

I almost wished the story would have ended right there.
